The Other Side

The Other Side

Scattered throughout the city are hidden doors and passages to The Other Side, a parallel world that co-exists with New Earth. Here time passes at the same rate as it does in Kin city, and it even shares the same space. However, using the power of magic, it exists in the faerie dimension. the doors are the only way to switch dimensions.

How the doors work:

Only fantasy beings can find and open these doors. (These creatures include (but are not limited to): Faeries, Trolls, Pixies, Elfs, Vampires, Werewolves, Witches, Wizards, Warlocks, Sorcerers, and any other classic fantasy creature (or modern variant there of). Aliens and 'other world' creatures are NOT considered fantasy creatures, and like humans will require help to pass through the doors!

All doors (with the exception of the door that leads to Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry and the door to Diagon Alley) will dump you into the center of The Wyldwoods.

Doors from Kin City to The Other Side are located in the following locations:

The backroom of Babylon
Top floor of The Red Room (door 76)
Basement of Kin City Industries (back by the boiler)
The 59th and West underground stop (behind the sleeping troll that smells of piss and cheep beer)
Second to last alley in the Kin City Marketplace (leads to Diagon Alley)
Platform 9 3/4, located between the 9th and Station Square and the 10th and East Broad stops on the underground. (Leads directly to Hogwarts Express)

Locations within The Other Side:

Seelie Court:

The Seelie Court is seen as more beneficent toward humans. They are known to seek help from humans, to warn those who had accidentally offended them, and to return human kindness with favors of their own. Still, a fairy belonging to this court will avenge insults and could be prone to mischief.

Here you will find the likes of Oberon and Titania.

The Seelie court covers most of the eastern lands on The Other Side, and is a very bright and colorful land. The grass is a vivid green and mushrooms and trees are all cheerful spring colours, growing as high as houses and skyscrapers. There are fewer dangerous creatures in these lands.

Unseelie Court:

The Unseelie (Unholy or Unblessed) Court consists of the malicious and evilly-inclined fairies. Unlike the Seelie Court, no offense is necessary to bring down their assaults. Like the fairies of the Seelie Court, neither are the faeries of the Unseelie court always evil. However, when forced to choose, they will always prefer to harm rather than help humans.

Here you will find Nephamael and Nicnevin (Queen of the Unseelie Court).

Covering most of the western lands, the Unseelie court is a much darker land, filled with twisted trees and gothic looking buildings that seem to have grown from the earth itself. Still, as with the Seelie Court, less dangerous creatures lurk here. Though really, the members of the Unseelie are frightening enough by themselves.

Iron Court:

The Iron Court was born from man's obsession with technology, and covers the very bottom of the land. It is not a large court, and very few dare venture into it. Here there is no grass and the trees are made of sharp metal. Iron Faeries dwell here, but they will likely kill you before you ever see them. …Unless the robotic spiders get you first.

Normal faeries can not enter this land without temporarily losing their powers and strength.

No one has ever seen the ruler.

Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry:

Though far away from the original Hogwarts Castle on Old Earth, the Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry continues in the grand tradition of educating young wizards and witches. Modeled closely on the original Hogwarts, it is currently the only school on New Earth that specializes in magic training.

Wyldwoods:

A mixture of the lands of the Seelie and Unseelie, bright colours mix with dark ones creating a magical but forboading landscape. Here, no one rules and the darker creatures roam free praying on anyone and anything that crosses their paths.
